Walpole, Massachusetts is an intimate town with a mix of suburban and rural areas located in Norfolk County. It is 17.9 miles from Boston and 25.3 miles to Providence, Rhode Island. Walpole had a population of 22,824 at the 2000 Census, with a median age of 41.

Walpole has a variety of public and private schools, including Walpole High School and Norfolk County Agricultural High School. Private educational opportunities include North Walpole Country Day School and Blessed Sacrament Elementary School.

Walpole voters elect a board of selectman and gather annually for a town meeting where budgets and bylaws are approved.

There is a commuter rail station to Boston located in Walpole with ample parking spaces for all of Walpole’s traveling business people. There are also MBTA transportation buses to and from Boston.

The Francis William Bird Park is an amazing park consisting of 89 acres. The area is family friendly and safe, with many walking paths and outdoor play areas. The scenery contains part of the Neponset River as well as tree groves, stone walkways, walking bridges overlooking the water, grassy fields and ponds. This beautiful park also offers areas for cross country skiing, tennis and basketball courts and a picnic area to enjoy with family and friends. Local concerts and events are sometimes held on the bandstand inside the park. Walpole Little League has won the state championship twice, in 1991 and 2007. They went to the Little League World Series in 2007.

Both sewage and water are municipally owned in Walpole. There is trash collection funded by Walpole for 1, 2, and 3 family homes that runs once a week. There are 30 Firefighters, Paramedics and Chief Officers. The closest Hospital is the Caritas Norwood Hospital.
